Two of the most knowledgeable and personable motorsport personalities, Jamie Howe and Mike Dunn, will be joined by FloRacing’s Courtney Enders and nitro Funny Car veteran Tommy Johnson Jr.
Continuing to provide an enhanced entertainment experience for the 2nd annual SCAG Power Equipment PRO Superstar Shootout, February 6-8, 2025, the Professional Racers and Owners Organization (PRO) announced the on-air talent line up for the highly anticipated event. Two of the most knowledgeable and personable motorsport personalities, Jamie Howe and Mike Dunn, will be calling all the action from the FloRacing.tv broadcasting center. In the pits and at the top end FloRacing’s Courtney Enders will be joined by nitro Funny Car veteran Tommy Johnson Jr. The quartet of drag racing experts have over a century of combined motorsports announcing and driving experience and will deliver top-tier coverage to the FloRacing viewers.
“When we talked about who we wanted to tell the stories from on the track and in the pit at the PRO Superstar Shootout we knew we needed strong personalities with a lot of experience,” said Alan Johnson, PRO Board President. “Jamie, Mike, Courtney and Tommy bring a wealth of insight to the event. We are turning them loose to tell the story about what we hope will be another record-setting race.”
The entire event will be broadcast live on FloRacing and throughout the qualifying and elimination rounds veteran motorsports TV personality Jamie Howe will be teamed up with drag racing legend Mike Dunn. Howe has been a featured reporter across a variety of motorsports working with ESPN and FOX throughout her career. Dunn, also worked with ESPN and he brings a massive amount of racer insight to the booth.
“I was fortunate enough to witness the first SCAG PRO Superstar Shootout from the pits and the top end,” said Howe. “It’s such a unique event that the racers and teams really push their boundaries to put on a show. Now having the opportunity to not only watch the action from the booth but also push my own boundaries to bring it to fans watching along in real time is something I could not pass up!”
“I’m honored to have the opportunity to get back in the booth for the PRO Superstar Shootout broadcast,” said Dunn. “After the success PRO had last year with staging an incredible event, I’m looking forward to working with the TV crew and analyzing runs, talking a little tech and maybe even telling some old war stories.”
In the pits and at the top end Courtney Enders and Tommy Johnson Jr. will be following all developments from the Top Fuel, Funny Car and Pro Stock pits. They will have unfettered access to drivers, crew chiefs and owners as teams battle to make the show. They will also be positioned at the top end throughout qualifying and eliminations to capture the emotions and reactions from all the teams.
“To say I’m excited would be a massive understatement. The PRO Superstar Shootout is a passion project that is so special to me,” said Enders, FloRacing senior content creator. “From concept to execution of the first Shootout, I’ve never been prouder of the FloRacing team. The work we put in and the product that came out for racers and fans. To be able to go down in history as one of the people who gets to tell the story of this event is one of the most special moments of my entire career. I’m a drag racing fan and have been since I was a little girl, and this is the coolest event drag racing has ever put on.”
Johnson is excited to be on the scene at this year’s event after following the FloRacing coverage from last year’s race. The on-air talent from FloRacing will also be working before and during the event to create well produced content pieces highlighting the unique personalities and telling more in-depth stories on the racers on and off track.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the PRO Superstar Shootout broadcast this year. I watched last year’s race on FloRacing and liked the excitement of the event,” said Johnson, who raced his way to 23 Funny Car victories in his career. “With the added intensity of a race this time of the season, I can’t wait to bring that to the fans in a unique way from a driver’s standpoint.”
The event will feature autograph sessions, driver Q&A’s and additional fan-friendly entertainment elements. The PRO Superstar Shootout will once again be broadcast on FloRacing all three days. Additional announcements including sponsors and schedule of events, including open testing on Thursday, February 6, will be announced shortly at www.prosuperstarshootout.com.
